The Cornwall Community Foundation helps communities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by awarding small grants to grassroots, front line, volunteer-led organisations who are making a positive impact in their area, helping to overcome these challenges of disadvantage, exclusion and poverty for all ages.
About The Foundation
We believe in a positive life for all in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, free from poverty and social isolation. To achieve this, we raise funds from individuals and businesses and distribute them to community and grassroots non-profit organisations who are changing lives across the county.
Cornwall Community Foundation has been at the forefront in supporting vulnerable Cornish communities. Since 2003, they have awarded more than £16 million, supporting more than 7,000 local organisations.

Where The Money Goes
Thank you to all of the attendees, sponsors, stallholders, and volunteers who helped make the 2023 Cornwall Christmas Fair such a success. Your incredible generosity raised a record-breaking £79,500 for the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF), smashing the £1 million mark since the Fair began.
The money raised has now been distributed to various voluntary organisations across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who are working tirelessly to improve lives and make the Duchy a wonderful place for all via the CCF.
The Women’s Centre – £20,000
The Women’s Centre is a charity offering empowering support to women and girls living with the impact of sexual and domestic abuse by offering a wide range of free information and services based on what women and girls need. They understand a lot of women feel isolated and unheard due to inequality and discrimination in our society.
Young & Talented Cornwall – £20,000
Headed by Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall Colonel Sir Edward Bolitho KCVO OBE, Young & Talented Cornwall supports those young individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding talent but are struggling to achieve their ambition or progress in their chosen career because of hardship or disability. Every aspiring star in Cornwall, whether in sports, music, dance, theatre, creative writing or STEM, deserves a chance to thrive.
CCF’s Cost of Living Crisis - £15,000
This appeal is designed to help those struggling with the rising cost-of-living crisis by providing grants to charities and community organisations who provide a vital lifeline to communities and individuals across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
A recent report from the Office of National Statistics shows that 38% of adults in Great Britain who pay for rent or a mortgage are finding it very or somewhat difficult to afford these payments. As well as housing and utility bills increasing, there is also a stark increase in food costs with more than half of adults in Great Britain saying they were buying less food when food shopping in the past two weeks and one in 20 adults said they had run out of food in the past two weeks and been unable to afford more.
The Oasis Centre – £5,000
The Oasis Centre supports people St. Columb, St. Ervan, St. Eval, St. Mawgan and surrounding areas who are in a condition of need, hardship, distress, ill-health, disability or other disadvantage. Their services are for everyone but, in particular, they seek to help those who are feeling lonely and isolated, or who are housebound. Oasis runs wellbeing cafes, lunch clubs, home visiting services and a wide range of activities. The group were presented with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2022.
St Petroc’s - £5,000
St Petrocs, work to end street homelessness in Cornwall by providing accommodation, support and advice to people experiencing homelessness. They value honesty, integrity, equality, and dignity which is rooted throughout their history. St Petrocs is committed to ensuring that they are accessible to everyone regardless of any identity or characteristic. They foster an environment free from harassment, unfair and unlawful discrimination where everyone is treated fairly.
The remaining £9,000 has been distributed to community organisations who work with, or are nearby to, the Eden Project. These organisations include Bugle Library of Things, a place where local residents can borrow various items and return along with a community shop; ClayTAWC Ltd, a vital community space providing skills workshops, social activities, children’s workshops and much more; and Music for Good who support well-being and learning through music.

The Friends of Cornwall Community Foundation are supporters who, through their membership donations, enable us to continue our vital work strengthening Cornish communities.
How the Foundation works
We believe in a positive life for all in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, free from poverty and social isolation. To achieve this, we raise funds from individuals and businesses and distribute them to community and grassroots non-profit organisations who are changing lives across the county.
Our network of community groups, who responded amazingly during the pandemic, now require additional funding both to meet continuing and future needs.
The benefits of becoming a Friend of the Foundation, you will be:

- contributing to the Friends’ fund which awards grants on an annual basis to community groups. In 2020 the fund supported our Cornwall Emergency Fund to alleviate the effects of the pandemic.
